5 things to be a friend

  1. Listen
  2. Find common ground
  3. Be available
  4. Humor
  5. Tell the hard truth
When i saw the list of 5. Point No. 5 is what we really don't usually do. Even though we always says we were friends, we are not.

If we don't point out our friends weakness, we don't move and if we don't move, there's no point living.

I know it's hard to open the mouth to say something crude. However, if you really treat that person as a precious one, you must. Even if you risk it, at least they know you care.

This is how you find your best friend.

"Your best friend is whom brings out the best within you." - Henry Ford

Respect for Bangladeshi

Imagine yourself stuck at the roadside building roads during peak hours of the day. In addition, those harmful gases emit from the busy cars and you had breathed them all into your precious body.

Imagine yourself hung up high around 10th storey with only the main frame of the building. No walls, no bricks just some huge metal bar combined together where you felt the wind might blew you off if it's a little stronger. When you looked down, you saw tiny little yellow hats moving around and everything seems so small way high above.

Imagine yourself stuck in the drain having to destroy the side and to rebuild it. Using your bare hands, you reach into the drain to pick up trash or to remove debris along the way.

Can you imagine yourself to do something so "crude"? Well, in fact. That's what our fellow Bangladeshi have been doing. The government had to offshore them here because we can't do it because of our ever improving standard of living. However the building cannot stop there. Therefore this is where they came in. All the way from their hometown wishing to come here to have a good start but to know what they do were really ironic since some of them were degrees holder.

That's why we shouldn't look them with the "smelly", "Bangladeshi", "outcast" and "inhuman" way. We should treat them as equal, as human.

Although sometime bad news were linked to them, we shouldn't condemned them all. It's just a wolf in a flock of cattle.

Let's make it a beautiful loving country.

Game Plan

Ever heard of anything called the game plan? Perhaps "Project Management" will sound more familiar to you. Anyway, my point is that when you do anything, you must have a plan.

Therefore I've made myself one. Things that i shall do to enrich my everyday life.

  1. Mash-up Tutorial - 1 Tutorial / 1 Article
  2. Book Reading - 1 Chapter
  3. Assessment Book - 1 Unit
  4. Manga - 1 Chapter (Optional)
These are some things that I felt that it would help me a lot. How option 4 will help is by relaxing me and energize me. As the saying goes "All works made Peter a dull boy".

P.S You should make one do today! Don't wait! Right now!

Decision Making

In our daily life, we always make big or small decisions regardless where and who we are.

Some decisions may affect people around you.

When it does involve with others, we tend to allow the relationship with that person to take over priority of the actual solution which it may hurt them.

When things are done, it's done. Whether it hurt them or not, if we have the rights and it's right to make the decision, nothing should become a barrier.

Sometime when i saw a person that was affected by my decision. I tend to look down at the floor. As if i did something wrong and i felt guilty. Doesn't know why but, i think from now on, i will hold my head high and face them eye to eye.

I make the decision and therefore i respect it.

When small things play a part

Imagine that you have to draw something like this picture above from scratch and to add in IP addresses and names for each of them accurately. This was what i did for the whole day. Every little IP addresses and names connected up with the corect routers and switches.

Although things are tough, i am glad i got the chance to do this. It's suitable for someone with the perfection personality which will need you to design the diagrams correctly and pleasant for the eyes. I have to becareful with every little changes i made.

Like the title says, "When small things plays a part". Even a space would make the thing seems so unprofessional. It's like life, when you have to boil water, iron the clothes, dry the clothes etc.. When it seems so unsignificant, it's impact is big.

Therefore, start the small things now! Make it part of you and things will seem smooth sailing ahead with clear blue sky.

Self Improve

Even though i had just entered the world of the adults. The atmosphere of excellence and competition have already engulfed me.

I have gotten several tasks recently. This is what my boss told me, "In the working life, actually it's very very easy. It's a matter whether you want to do it or not. In order for you to impress your boss, you have to excel in your work. Always ask yourself whether this is the best it can be done. Improve and impress."

These words have surface on my mind again and again. In order to survive you have to improve. Maybe Yong Liang had already knew this and excelled. Although we are far away now, it's not too late to start. I will catch up to him and show him that, i can be the "helpdesk" too.

P.S You watch out ah Yong Liang!

Don't Judge the Book by its Cover

Just some minutes ago, Khalis just went off site with his supervisor, Mr. T although it was told that he's going at 11am, to 1pm and just some minutes ago.

I felt upset for him. He did not bring his laptop because of the off site and thus did not do anything productive due to the lack of equipment. He just patiently waited and fell asleep eventually. I can understand how he felt at that time, not felt like doing anything but just go.

Eventually Mr. T came and brought him off. Before that happens, he actually assist me on my project on various protocols definitions. His lecture was remarkable. It really taught me alot by just a short meeting with him. Thank you Mr. T.

He is kind and Khalis should be having enjoyable time with him "working". Therefore, like the title says, don't judge the book by its cover!
