"Your helping your dad or your working part-time?"
"I'm working part-time"
"Oh.. it's rare to see youngsters working in a coffeshop"
I smiled.
This triggers me to think. That is what people thinks. To a certain extent, i'm once a thinker like the customers, however gradually, i find it a better environment to work in. I have work in quite a number of F&B's before so eventually i chose the "coffeshop".
Here is some comparisons between the HIGH CLASS and the LOW CLASS Pros and Cons:
When i'm very young around 15, i worked in Thai Express. ($5 per hour)
Cousin brought me in.
CONS:
-I'm ordered to stand outside the place where there is outdoor tables too, stationed. You will tend to get tired easily when nothing much is assigned to you and it is boring.
-I'm living in AMK and that branch is located at Esplanade. OMG
PROS:
-We get free drinks now and then with the people being very friendly. Love them.
-Scenery is good with the correct atmosphere, thumbs up.
-Good superior and i just love the bonds.
Overall:
Well, i quit just around a month due to the fact that my cousin's departure and i'm just totally lazy to work at such a far place. I just donated $100+ salary to them because i didn't take it. It's too far at that age of mine, their HQ was located at Mohammad Sultan which to me was "OMG, where the hell is that place?!"
After which, i've joined the "coffeshop". The people at that point of time, to me was fucked up, even the boss too. So i've quitted for a period of time. Then i went to work in
Bakerzin. ($5 or $5.50 I forgot)
PROS:
-Free pastries every night which was going to expire soon. Thats good. :)
-Superior was good, we backstab the boss many times. XD
-When adapted, you will feel that your having fun instead of working.
-I learnt new techniques
-The Cook was funny.
CONS:
-Too many stupid rules
-Sometimes superior is too cocky
-Same thing, at a station. Doing nothing. Easily tired.
-When you make error, they is no 2nd chance. You just have to pay. Stupid rules is that. NO WELFARE at all. It just makes yourself plain stupid to work there. =\
Overall:
I pretty love that place, when working with my bestie, Sipei. Hmm, at that place i learn new techniques, in the bar. Making latte and many other beverages. ^_^ Well i quited because of the new rotate system they have, because they simply changes everyone. Which i rejects it. It's the nearest we could hope for, Novena. Other outlets is like at Taka or Paragon. With the new uniform they made, eeew, just now my taste!
After that, i went back to the "coffeshop" because i'm broke. However to my surprise, the boss was like a new man, changes his attitude and everything was alright. Hahaha.
Steamboat. ($5 - $6 After a period of time i'm promoted. xD)
PROS:
-All of the employees are my friends. Just like one big family.
-I learn to look at the freshness of the indgredients.
-I learn how to cook with different types of indgredients.
-I learn to prepare and set up stalls plus closing.
-I train muscles. (Lifting Gas Tanks)
-We talk like nobody business
-NO stations!
-Boss scold, we just giggles and "do" our patrol. XD
-Supper included during the weekends. :)
-Chatting with funny customers. Rather some is regulars.
CONS:
-No double pay on holidays.(But a treat from boss)
-Customers being too cocky and complains. (BACKSTAB)
-Customers which left alot of food. (CURSE & SWEARS)
-Boss loves to repeat his words.
-Boss loves to seperate us from talking, which he always fails. XD
Overall:
I just loves it. ^_^
